Swachha camp, voter awareness drive held

Manipur University National Service Scheme (NSS) Cell organised one day State Level Swachha Camp and Voter Awareness Drive in celebration of 'My First Vote For The Country' at Traffic Island and MU Auditorium on Sunday: As per a release, the programme started with the Swachhata Campaign at 7 am on Sunday under the supervision of Department of Ancient History and Archaeology HoD professor Oinam Ranjit Singh, Department of Library and Information Science HoD professor Ch Ibohal Singh and NSS Cell coordinator Dr Maibam Nodiyachand Singh.
MU NSS Cell coordinator and all volunteers and programme officers from different colleges and MU attended the cleanliness drive.
The Cell also informed that the second event, Voter Awareness Drive held at MU Auditorium was attended by Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports NSS NER, Guwahati youth officer Nakul Chandra Deori as chief guest, Dr Maibam Nodiyachand Singh as president and MU Department of Law HoD Dr Yumnam Premananda Singh as guest of honour.
Around 300 volunteers and 20 programme officers from MU and its affiliated colleges participated in the function, it added.
