Imphal, July 27 2023:
After two buses driven by Meitei Pangal drivers carrying RAF personnel were burned at Sapermeina under Kangpokpi district, Manipur Muslim Welfare Organisation (MMWO) stated that Meitei Pangal drivers should stop working for central para military forces.
Speaking to media persons at its Hatta office on Thursday, MMWO president Korimayum Boboi noted that large number of security forces deployed in the state to contain the violence are using civil vehicles for their transportation.
It is unfortunate that RAF kicked out the two drivers from the trucks and told them to save their own lives by running to the jungle rather than preventing torching of the buses and protesting the drivers in distress.
One of the drivers escape the mod attack by hiding in the jungle, while the other returned home safely by hitchhiking on a two wheeler driven by Naga, he informed.
Boboi said that the central government owes an explanation whether or not security personnel are here for securing the lives and properties of the people.
