Assam Rifles conducts friendly volleyball, clean-up drive

Imphal, April 25 2025: Assam Rifles on Friday organised a friendly volleyball match at T Minou, H Lhangcham village, and a community clean-up drive at Chongjang village, both in Tengnoupal district, in connection with the observance of World Malaria Day.

According to PRO IGAR (S), the volleyball match between AR troopers and local youth of T Minou served as a platform to promote sportsmanship, unity, and mutual cooperation.

The match was won by the village team at 2-1.In the Chongjang village clean-up drive over 90 individuals including villagers, youth volunteers, health workers and Assam Rifles personnel cleaned numerous stagnant water sites and drains which are prone to become mosquito breeding grounds.

An awareness session was also conducted, educating residents on malaria symptoms, preventive practices, and hygiene.

Informational leaflets promoting the use of mosquito nets and sanitation practices were distributed to households, the PRO conveyed.
