Reception ceremony held

Thoubal, March 23 2025:
Akoijam Mahesh who bagged 1st position in "Instrumental Solo Guitar Competition" and Thiyam Bikash who bagged 1st position in "Folk Song Competition" at the 8th North East Youth Festival 2025 held at Sikkim Gangtok were accorded a warm reception upon their arrival at their birthplace Thoubal Wangmataba by the localities and members of Social Service and Welfare Association (SSAWA), Thoubal.
The 8th North East Youth Festival, 2025 held under the theme "Empowered Youth, Empowered Region - My Bharat, Viksit Bharat" witnessed participation of more than 1500 delegates from the North East region.
The four day festival began from March 17 and concluded on Mar 20 .
The reception programme held at Thoubal Wangmataba Sorok Makha Community Hall was organised by Social Service and Welfare Association (SSAWA), Thoubal in the presence of village elders, Langpoklakpam Ibohal, Narengbam Kuper and Langpoklakpam Rajendro as presidium members.
The gathering congratulated Mahesh and Bikash for their achievement and presented special gifts as encouragement for their remarkable achievements.
Notably, the North East Youth festival is held annually to commemorate the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda.
The festival was organised by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Govt of India in collaboration with the Youth Affairs Department, Govt of Sikkim and Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS) at Paljor Stadium, Gangtok Sikkim.
Altogether 50 participants from Manipur participated in 3 team events and 1 individual event at the festival.
