Imphal, July 22 2025:
Three displaced residents from Moreh, now living-in Akampat relief camp, have appealed to MyCab to return the vehicles they lent to the company and to clear long-overdue rental payments.
Interacting with the media at the relief camp on Monday, Ningthoujam Ibungo, Ahanthem Bishorjit and Chingtham Ibung said that they handed over their vehicles to MyCab with the hope of earning a stable income while living in the camp without any source of livelihood.
The vehicles included a Bolero (MN01AK 9185) owned by Ibungo, an i20 (MN01AK 9761) owned by Bishorjit, and a non-registered Bolero belonging to Ibung.
They alleged that MyCab proprietor Thangjam Vishal, son of Rajen of Porompat near TV Tower, has not cleared the rental dues for several months.
Despite repeated efforts to meet Vishal in person, the vehicle owners said they have been unable to do so.
The trio also claimed that they went to the MyCab office in Imphal multiple times but were only given vague dates and promises that were never honoured.
They last visited the office in November 2024, but found it closed.
Since then, they said there has been neither communication nor received the vehicles back or the dues owed.
A formal complaint was lodged at Porompat police station, but the matter remains unresolved, the owners said and urged the government authorities and civil society organisations to intervene and help them recover their vehicles and pending dues.
