UCM sounds SOS on ASF outbreak in Nagaland

Imphal, March 22 2025:
United Committee Manipur (UCM) has urged the authorities concerned to take necessary precautionary measures in light of the outbreak of African swine fever in Yachem village, Nagaland.
In a release, UCM Awang Sekmai chairman Suresh pointed out that livestocks are being imported into the state day and night along the National Highway 39, Imphal-Dimapur Road, passing through Awang Sekmai area.
This has raised concerns among piggery farmers in the state," he said and urged the authorities concerned to properly inspect the livestock being brought into the state.
He also appealed to the Veterinary department to organise awareness programme about ASF and take necessary precautionary measures.
