CCPWPM hopes SC acts on Waqf PIL

Imphal, April 16 2025: Coordination Committee for Protection of Waqf Properties, Manipur (CCPWPM) chairman AR Khan has expressed optimism that the Supreme Court will consider the PIL filed by the committee against the Waqf Amendment Act, 2025 .

Addressing media persons at Lilong MLA Abdul Nasir's official residence at Babupara on Wednesday, retired IAS officer AR Khan said CCPWPM was formed during a joint meeting of representatives of Meitei Pangal CSOs held at MLA Nasir's residence on April 9 .

The committee joined nationwide condemnation against Waqf Amendment Act and filed a PIL at the Supreme Court on behalf of Muslim community of Manipur, he said and expressed hope that the Supreme Court will admit the PILs filed from different parts of the country.
