Imphal, April 03 2025: National Board of Examination in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has assured that a test centre for NEET-MDS in Manipur will be reinstated from 2026 following the intervention of Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla.

A press release issued by the commissioner-cum-secretary (Health & Family Welfare) informed that the issue arose when NBEMS discontinued Imphal as a test centre, causing inconvenience to aspirants from the state.

Concerned about the hardship faced by candidates, the Governor took up the matter with the Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare, through a letter dated March 17, requesting restoration of the centre.

In response, NBEMS conveyed through a letter dated April 1, that a NEET-MDS exam centre would be made available in Manipur from 2026, the press release added.
