Workshop on ITR filing conducted

Thoubal, January 29 2024: A day-long national workshop on "Income Tax-TDS, Return Filing and Refund Claims" was jointly organised by IQACs of Lilong Haoreibi College Lilong and YK College Wangjing, and the Income Tax Department, Government of India, on Monday.

The inaugural function of workshop held at the multipurpose hall of Lilong Haoreibi College was attended by YK College principal Dr S Giri Singh and principal of host college Prof Md A Sattar Shah as chief guest and president respectively while Tax Deducted at Source (TDS) Imphal (Intelligence and Criminal Investigation) S Sachidananda Singh and TDS Income Tax officer Haobijam Joyo Singh were present as guests of honour.

Speaking at the function, Prof Sattar Shah pointed out that all government employees under the general category especially the gazetted officers need to submit income tax statement in February every year.

The workshop has been organised to enable all the government employees to get acquainted with the process of submission and return filing of income tax statement on their own.

It is hoped that the workshop would provide the necessary knowledge and benefit to teachers of the two colleges , he added.

S Sachidananda and Haobijam Joyo of TDS provided inputs during the technical sessions.

Over 100 staff of YK.and Lilong Haoreibi colleges took part in the workshop.
