Capacity building, input distribution prog held

A one-day 'Capacity Building-cum-Input Distribution Programme' was organised by Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Chandel at ICAR Manipur Centre, Loktak Fanners' Hostel, Lamphelap on Tuesday under the National Innovation in Climate Resilient Agriculture (NICRA) Project with an aim to mitigate the problems faced by farmers due to climate change.
The programme was attended by Agriculture Department joint director Ts Gladney Monsang as chief guest, KVK, Chandel senior scientist and head Dr A Ameeta Devi as president and ICAR Regional Centre for North East Hill Region, Manipur head Dr Ch Basudha Devi as guest of honour.

According to KVK, Chandel subject matter specialist (Soil & Water Conservation) and NIRCA Project nodal officer Dr Kangjam Sonamani, the programme aims to help farmers affected by climate change through provision of climate- resilient crop seeds and livestock.
During the function, attended by 36 farmers from Lambung village, Chandel district, ducklings, goats, feed, medicines, feed supplements, shade net (75 per cent), 'Phoudi', groundnut, soybean, brush cutter, etc,, were distributed to beneficiaries.
