Priyaluxmi JAC demands probe; protest held

Bishnupur, April 21 2025: The 'JAC against the brutal killing of Khangembam Priyaluxmi d/o Jadumani Singh' has submitted a.memorandum to the Bishnupur deputy commissioner (DC), demanding a thorough investigation into Priyaluxmi's death and legal action against those responsible.

Speaking to the media after submitting the memorandum, JAC co-convenor Nongmaithem Bishrup informed that the memorandum was handed over to the DC for forwarding the same to the Governor and uncovering the truth behind the incident.

He further disclosed that the DC immediately contacted the Home Commissioner and urged for initiation of necessary steps and precautionary measures to prevent such incidents in the future.

Meanwhile, Manipur Chanura Lamjing Lup (MACHALL) organised a sit-in protest at Ngaikhong Siphai, demanding proper investigation to uncover the truth behind Priyaluxmi's death.

The Lup also expressed solidarity with the bereaved family, sharing their grief and sorrow.

Speaking at the protest venue, MACHALL co-convenor Moirangthem Nirmala Devi called the incident deeply unfortunate and testament to safety concerns of woman in the national capital.

She urged authorities concerned to reveal the truth behind Priyaluxmi's death and ensure that those responsible are brought to justice.

During the protest, the participants raised slogans such as "We condemn the killing of Priyaluxmi" and "Punish the culprits involved in Priyaluxmi's death" .
