Scheme beneficiaries demand release of fund

Bishnupur, April 30 2024: Beneficiaries of Housing for All Scheme for Nambol Municipal Council ward no.6, on Tuesday demanded authorities concerned to release the fund for the housing scheme promptly.

During a protest at Phoijing Makha, a scheme beneficiary said around 30 beneficiaries in the area are facing serious financial stress as they have started house construction in expectation that authorities would translate their assurances to release the fund into action.

However, with the same authorities yet to initiate the funding process, some of the beneficiaries borrowed money to construct their house hoping to utilise the scheme funds in repaying their debt and complete their houses, the beneficiary mentioned.

While stating that some are deprived of a proper house for sheltering from extreme weather conditions, another beneficiary appealed to authorities concerned to release the housing scheme funds without any further delay.
