UMO condemns Jiribam bomb explosion

Imphal, March 31 2024: Universal Mothers' Organisation (UMO) has condemned the bomb blast at three shops at Durgapur/Lamtai Khunou, Jiribam allegedly carried out by Chin-Kuki narco-terrorists on March 28 .

In a release, UMO publicity secretary Akham Yaipharembi demanded that central and state governments investigate the matter, arrest and punish the culprits as per the law.

Chin Kuki narco-terrorists who have created a rift between the communities of Manipur should be uprooted from the state, the secretary asserted, adding that organisation will not remain silent if such attacks continue.

UMO further emphasised that search operation should be conducted in the hills similar to those in valley region in view of the upcoming election.

Urging for deployment of additional security forces in Jiribam to protect Meetei community, UMO cautioned that it will join any agitation and extend support to Jiribam CSOs over the issue.
