Won't recognised students registered after dissolution of CMJ: Meghalaya Govt

Meghalaya government has declared that students who registered after the dissolution order of CMJ University on March 31, 2014, Will not be recognised.
Meghalaya government issued a directive to the university to close down all academic activities and to settle all disputes, grievances, and claims of students admitted after the issuance of the dissolution order dated March 31, 2014, and to submit an action taken report.
Contesting the dissolution order issued by the government for CMJ University, a petition was filed at the Supreme Court.
However, the Supreme Court, in its judgement delivered on February 13, 2025, reaffirmed the Meghalaya government's order.
According to an order issued by the Meghalaya education department, the university continued the admission process despite the dissolution order.
The Supreme Court also stated in its judgement that all appointments made by the Chancellor, including those of the vice-chancellor and registrar, are void.
The university shall be wound up immediately and delisted.
As the dissolution order has been affirmed, the government will not recognise the admissions of students made thereafter.
As per the court order, the state government is allowed to take appropriate action.
In connection with this, all academic activities should be shut down, and all disputes, grievances, and claims of students should be settled.
Complaints and claims may be forwarded to CMJ University via the email addresses: [email protected] and registrar @cmjumeghalaya.edu.in.
The university must be wound up immediately and completely.
All directives must be complied with, and an action taken report (ATR) must be furnished.
Upon receipt of the ATR and compliance, all accounts shall be defreezed.
Non-compliance shall result in administrative action.
