FOCS appeals to join May 3 commemorative event

Stating that preparation for the observance of May 3 as 'Day of Remembrance and Reflection' is complete, Federation of Civil Society Organisation (FOCS) appealed to the people to take part at the programme where public discussion will be held about the ongoing crisis.
Speaking to mediapersons at its Kabo Leikai office on Thursday, FOCS working president BM Yaima Shah raised serious concern that the crisis continues to grip the state for almost two years.
May 3, which will remain in history of Manipur is observed as 'Day of Remembrance and Reflection' by FOCS since last year.
This year the observance will be held at Yumnam Khunou community hall in Imphal East under the theme 'Bridging divides for shared future' .
The organising committee for the observance has been formed, he continued, adding that he is the chairman of the committee with N Yaima Meetei as vice chairman and Rakesh Moirangthem as convenor.
Nine sub-committees have also been constituted to make the observance a successful one.
BM Yaima Shah further stated that the grievances of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) will be addressed during the observance, and these concerns will also be raised when FOCS delegation participates in the talk with the centre.
He stated that FOCS, along with like-minded organisations in Jiribam, will also observe the 'Day of Remembrance and Reflection' in the district.
While appealing to the public to ensure success of the programme, he urged transport associations and private individuals to assist in transporting participants to the observance venues.
