World Veterinary Day observed

World Veterinary Day 2025 was observed across the country on Saturday to recognize and celebrate the vital contributions of veterinarians and the broader veterinary community in advancing animal health, welfare, and public safety.
As part of the World Veterinary Day observation, the Department of Animal Husbandry & Dairying (DAHD), Government of India organised a National-Level Workshop at the AP Shinde Symposium Hall, NASC Complex, Pusa, New Delhi today.
As per a release issued by Directorate of Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Services, Government of Manipur, a team of Officers from the State Veterinary Department, Manipur led by the Director, Veterinary & AH Services, Dr RK Khogendrajit Singh also attended the National Workshop.
A State-level Programme was also held at the Farmers' Training Hall,.
Veterinary Complex, Sanjenthong today with the Secretary, Veterinary & AH as the chief guest and Dr Th Jeevan Singh, retired Director, Veterinary & AH Services; Dr M Rajendro Singh, retired Joint Director, Veterinary & AH Services and Dr Polem Lenin Singh, Joint Secretary, Veterinary & AH as guests of honour.
During the event, the Secretary applauded the Department for completing the 21st Livestock Census 2024-25 well ahead of the deadline.
He also appreciated the recent concerted efforts in organising Anti-Rabies Vaccination (ARV) campaigns across the State.
The programme was presided over by Dr L Gojen Singh, Joint Director (Plg), Department of Veterinary & AH Services, Manipur, and witnessed the participation of veterinary professionals, staff and stakeholders dedicated to the cause of animal health and welfare.
The programme included a technical session on the topics, "Role of the Veterinary Sector in the Control of Rabies" and "Animal Health Takes a Team" .
