Security forces recover arms, ammos

Imphal, April 21 2025:
Indian Army and Assam Rifles formation under Spear Corps apprehended UG cadres, destroyed training camps and recovered 22 weapons, Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), grenades, ammunition and war-like stores during intelligence-based operations launched in Churachandpur, Tengnoupal, Imphal East and Imphal West districts between April 13 and 19 in coordination with Manipur Police, CRPF, BSF, and ITBP.
According to a PRO IGAR (S) release, on April 13, Indian Army and Manipur Police launched a joint operation in general area Sanasabi, in Imphal East district, recovering four improvised mortars, grenades, ammunition and war like stores.
On the same day, in Churachandpur district, Assam Rifles and Manipur Police destroyed a training camp of cadres in general area Gelmoul village.
In another search operation conducted in Saidan area, also in Churachandpur district, oh April 16, army and police recovered one each .303 rifle, 9mm pistol, modified Carbine Machine Gun, single barrel rifle, modified 81 mm mortar, two country made mortars (pompi), ammunition and war like stores.
On April 17, Assam Rifles and police carried out searches in Imphal West, Imphal East and Tengnoupal districts leading to recovery of arms and ammunition, including AK rifle, SLR, carbine machine gun, single barrel rifle, pistol, 10 IEDs, grenades, ammunition and war like stores.
The recovered items have been handed over to Manipur Police, said the PRO, adding that these coordinated efforts by security fortes highlight their unwavering commitment to maintaining peace and security in Manipur.
