Bike thief, drug peddler arrested

Imphal, April 04 2023: In connection with the case of stealing a KTM 250 motorcycle from Khuman Lampak on the first day of the Tri-Nation International Football Tournament on March 22, a team Imphal West district police commando has arrested another man suspected to be involved in the case.

The accused identified as Md Madawud Khan (21) s/o Alahaj Mahamud Khan of Lilong Haoreibi Makha Leikai was arrested from in front of Manipur Police Headquarters, Babupara, here, on Monday.

On questioning, Madawud disclosed that he was involved in stealing of the KTM 250 motorcycle (unregistered) from Khuman Lampak on March 22.The crime was committed along his elder brother Md Mujib Khan (27) s/o Mahamud Khan, who is currently absconding.

The team recovered one mobile phone, Aadhaar card, driving license and Maruti Swift (WB 02AG 3031) from his possession.

He has been handed over to Imphal PS for further legal action.

On the other-hand, a team of Porompat police station arrested one Md Warish Khan, son of (L) Md Sanaola Khan of Sangaiyumpham Mairen Khul along with 55 gm of heroin on April 2 around 11pm.According to a police report, the team on frisking and checking operation near DC, Imphal East office campus halted an Auto RE (MN06 S1718) for checking and consequently recovered 45 vials of heroin, weighing a total of 55gm.Porompat PS has registered an FIR against the man under NDPS Act and further legal actions initiated.
