Thoubal, April 04 2023:
Reacting against the conviction of Congress Rahul Gandhi by a Suraj court and disqualifying him as MP of Lok Sabha, Thoubal District Congress Committee president Nongmaithem Lukhoi has claimed that the Indian Judiciary is 'managed' by those in power.
Speaking during a press conference organised by-Wangjing Tentha Block Congress Committee as part of the Jai Bharat Satyagraha' Campaign under the aegis of Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) at the Langthabal office of the Committee on Tuesday, Lukhoi contended that as action and attitude of the BJP led government in India has made democracy a complete joke, the Congress party initiated the movement to denounce the failure of BJP to respect the constitution of India.
He asserted that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has been convicted by the court and subsequently disqualified as an MP for speaking in the parliament to save the constitution, democracy and economy of the country.
The judgment of the court which is the first of its kind in the history of India is shocking and at the same time very unfortunate.
The press conference was also attended by Committee president Sh Gopeshwor, office bearers and workers of Thoubal district committee and Wangjing committee.
