Efforts on to set syllabus, curriculum in line with NEP

A one-day consultative meeting to discuss setting syllabus and curriculum of the higher secondary level in accordance to the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 was organised by Council of Higher Secondary Education Manipur (COHSEM) at Sanjenthong State Guest House, here, on Tuesday.
Speaking at the event, COHSEM chairman Takhellambam Ojit informed that the NEP 2022 is among the top policies on education in the world.
The policy will bridge gaps and challenges faced in the earlier education system of the country in general and that of the Manipur in particular.
Informing that the policy will enable students to pursue their studies in their respective mother tongue up to the level of class VIII, the Council chairman stated that it will further help in protecting the languages which are on the verge of extinction.
He also stated that the consultative meeting has been organised to discuss setting the syllabus and curriculum in accordance to the NEP 2023.The resolutions adopted during the consultative meeting will be translated into action at the earliest, he assured.
The inaugural function of the consultative meeting was also attended by COHSEM secretary Ch Biren, controller of examinations A Sukumar, MU College Development Council former director Kh Ratankumar and Manipur College former professor Elengbam Iboyaima as presidium members.
The consultative meet which was also attended by representatives of different organisations of teachers and students also had resource persons speaking on relevant topics.
