Bishnupur body opposes burial at Torbung Bangla

Bishnupur, August 02 2023: Bishnupur Apunba Lup (BAL), a joint body of 12 wards of Bishnupur Municipal Council (BMC), has asserted that it will oppose tooth & nail any attempt to bury bodies of Kukis, who died during the on-going conflict, at Haolai Khopi, Torbung Bangla on Thursday.

Addressing a press meet in connection with election of office bearers of BAL advisory committee at BMC conference hall on Wednesday, BAL advisor Kh Ojit said the committee has been formed to chalk up strategies vis-a-vis the conflict situation.

He also urged all, public and government to join hands in foiling the move by Kuki organisations to bury the bodies on Thursday and pointed out that it is time for all to unite to face adversary elements.

Later, a meeting of local clubs, organisations and leaders elected L Debachand as president and T Bikram Singh as secretary of advisory committee.
