Recruitment of 120 staff nurses at RIMS Central officials to oversee DPC

High level officials of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare will come here to oversee the DPC for recruitment of 120 staff nurses at Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal.
A high ranking official of RIMS told The Sangai Express that preparations have been put in place for conducting examination for recruitment of 120 staff nurses at the institute.
The official said that the DPC is targeted to be held in November.
Steps to ensure transparency in the recruitment process have been taken up, the official said adding officials from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt of India will oversee the DPC.
It may be mentioned RIMS has been grappling with several controversies over the recruitment of staff nurses, purchase of dental chairs for Dental College and others.
The CBI was even roped in to probe graft charges at RIMS.
The official further said that about 6000 applications have been received in response to the advertisement for recruitment of 120 staff nurses.
Among these applicants, about 1000 are from outside the State.
A written exam will be conducted to short-list about 300 candidates for the next stage of selection procedure, the official said.
In the previous recruitment, about 1000 candidates were short-listed in the written exam for selection of about 120 staff nurses.
Established norms will be followed this time in the viva voce too.
An eight-member high level examination committee with Director of the institute as the Chairman was formed today, the official said.
The examination committee, also comprising top rung officials of the institute, will conduct the DPC for recruitment of the staff nurses with a collective decision.
The high level committee has been formed mainly to ensure transparency in the recruitment, the official said.
