Good governance will be BJP poll plank: Chaoba

Winning the bye-elections to Thongju and Thangmeiband assembly constituencies will be first step for the BJP in its forward march for capturing power in the State by 2017, said BJP Manipur Pradesh President Th Chaoba.
During an interaction with media persons on Wednesday at the party's office, Chaoba said it has been formally announced that Khumukcham Joykishan and Thongam Bishwajit will be the party's candidates for the Thangmeiband and Thongju A/Cs bye-elections on November 21.The polls this time will be fought on the issue of rooting out corruption and bringing good governance in the State, said Chaoba exuding confidence of his party's victories in the coming polls.
BJP State Level Election Committee has been formed to fight the elections and BJP Manipur Pradesh President Th Chaoba will be the Chairman of the committee.
M Bhorot, H Borbabu, Santikumar Sharma, Seityabhama, S Premananda, S Basanta, S Ibohal, Dr RK Ranjan, P Saratchandra will be the members while M Asinikumar the Convener, informed Chaoba.
Chaoba further informed that one media committee has also been formed in connection with the bye-election.
L Basanta will be the Chairman while members include Nimbas, O Malesh, Bikramjit, Sushildro, Poireihenba among others.
The Congress's status has been gradually diminished as it has failed to implement various schemes or even make MGNREGS, Food Security and PDS operational, said Chaoba.
