KSA sets condition for Thambal Marik College SU election

Students' Union election of Thambalmarik College, Nambol Oinam which is scheduled to be held on November 2 should be conducted only after the nominations of two over aged candidates are rejected, said Kangleipak Students' Association (KSA) .
Briefing media persons at its office, KSA HRD secretary Angouton said that according to the guidelines set down by the Directorate of University and Higher Education, only students between the age group of 19-22 years can contest in the college election.
However, two over aged students have submitted nomination form to contest the post of general secretary.
In the meantime, another student candidate for the post of general secretary was rejected by the college authority as the percentage scored by the student did not reach 75 per cent.
However, when KSA went to Manipur University to clear the doubt, it was found that the student had actually scored more than 75 per cent in the examination, Angouton added.
In case, the candidatures of the two over aged candidates are not rejected by the college authority, KSA will boycott the election, he further said.
