Chandel farmers trained on pig rearing

Kakching, April 24 2025:
A day-long training programme on scientific rearing of pigs was organised by District Veterinary Office, Chandel under the National Livelihood Mission 2024-25 at Lambung village community hall in Chandel district on Thursday.
The training was inaugurated with Lambung village chief LH Noah, District Veterinary Office, Chandel joint director Dr Chirom Nishita Devi and Lambung village assistant chief Kh Hringson as chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.
District veterinary officer Dr Ruwndar Samery Anal and staff of the department, along with the villagers and farmers of Lambung, also took part in the event.

During the technical session, KVK, Chandel head Dr Ashem Ameeta Devi spoke on the topic "Care and management of growing and finishing pigs and boars" and also educated the farmers on proper feeding, housing, environmental control and disease prevention.
District veterinary officers Dr Bimol Singh and Dr Suresh Chabungbam also spoke on the topics "Housing and Management of Pig" and "Feeding different category of pig for optimum production" respectively as resource persons.
