Sharda University celebrates diversity with 8th North East Cultural Fest 2025

Imphal, March 23 2025: Sharda University successfully organised the 8th North East Cultural Fest 2025, bringing together students, academicians, and dignitaries to celebrate India's rich heritage.

The grand event, held on the university campus, served as a vibrant platform for artistic expression, cultural exchange, and regional appreciation, said a release issued by Sharda University.

The highlight of the event was the presence of the Chief Minister of Meghalaya, Conrad K Sangma, who graced the occasion as the chief guest.

Speaking at the event, Conrad Sangma praised Sharda University for organising the event and added that such initiatives provide students from different States an opportunity to learn about the traditions and lifestyles of Northeast India.

He acknowledged that the university fosters a familylike atmosphere among students and lauded its infrastructure and academic approach.

"I was truly impressed by the state-of-the-art equipment and world-class facilities that your hospital offers.

It is clear that your commitment to providing excellent care is supported by cutting-edge technology and a highly skilled team of professionals.

Additionally, I had the privilege of visiting Sharda University.

The university's education system is truly world-class, and it's inspiring to see how it prepares students to be leaders and innovators across various fields", added the CM .

Dr Sibaram Khara, Vice Chancellor of Sharda University, said, "With participation from over 1,500 students, the event showcased captivating folk dances, soulful musical performances, and compelling theatrical expressions, celebrating India's diverse traditions".

He further emphasized the importance of immersive cultural experiences, noting that students actively engaged in traditional art workshops, storytelling sessions, and interactive exhibitions that deepened their connection to India's rich heritage.

PK Gupta, Chancellor of Sharda University, said, "This celebration highlights our dedication to intercultural understanding and collaboration, strengthening our bond with diverse communities".

Prof Rana Pratap Singh, Vice Chancellor of Gautam Buddha University, emphasized the significance of cultural inclusivity and national unity through his presence and insightful address.

The festival featured vibrant cultural performances from seven North Eastern states, highlighting their rich traditions through mesmerizing dance and soulful music.

Performances included the energetic Laho dance from Meghalaya, the graceful Bihu dance from Assam, and other traditional folk forms, truly celebrating India's diverse heritage.
