ACME eyes Ai-guided Embryo Incubator

ACME Fertility and Healthcare Centre celebrated World IVF Day at its Palace Compound, Hiyang Hiren Leirak premises on Friday.
The celebration commemorates the birth of Louise Brown, the first baby conceived through In Vitro Fertilization (IVF), with medical professionals highlighting significant progress in fertility treatment in the state.
Speaking at the event, ACME Fertility and Healthcare Centre MD Dr James Elangbam informed that IVF services are now available in six hospitals across the state.
He said the expansion has eased the financial and emotional burden on issueless couples who previously had to travel outside the state and spend large sums for IVF treatment.

Dr James said that awareness about infertility and assisted reproductive technology has increased considerably in recent years.
"It is wrong to place blame solely on the wife when a couple experiences difficulty in conceiving," he stressed, pointing out that fertility issues can affect both men and women.
He added that earlier, people seeking fertility treatment often faced social stigma and misunderstanding, but public perception has changed for the better.
Dr James further stated that ACME Hospital has seen a consistent rise in its IVF success rates since it began offering the service from 2019.Looking ahead, he announced that from 2026, the hospital will introduce an AI-guided Embryo Incubator to enhance treatment outcomes.
As part of the celebration, parents who had successful IVF treatments at the hospital, and in-service and former staff members were honoured with gifts.
Several parents also spoke at the event, sharing their personal journeys and the emotional and physical challenges they.faced before achieving parenthood through IVF .
