Athouba calls for unanimous stand on Manipur

Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI) convenor Kh Athouba has urged the people to have a unanimous stand on saving Manipur, and protecting its territorial integrity and future.
On Friday, COCOMI Moirang Branch held a public meeting at Moirang Kumam Mandop.
The meeting was attended by COCOMI's Moirang Branch chairman K Nanda, convenor Khuraijam Athouba, Mobilisation co-convenor YK Dhiren, Finance co-convenor Yumkhaibam Surjitkumar Khuman, Consultative members L Jadu and Th Somorendro, General Administration co-convenor Ph Shyamchand, Media co-convenor L Jayenta, MAMPIL president Padamo Devi, ANUL Moirang president K Bina Devi, Thinungei Meira Paibi president L Binodini, Sunusiphai Meira paibi president W Hemabati, Naransena Apunba Meira Paibi Lup president N Leirikmacha, Tronglaobi Meira Paibi president Y Tarubi and Terakhongsangbi Apunba Meira Paibi Lup member kN Renubala as presidium members.
Speaking at the meeting, held in continuation of the series of local level discussions on the Manipur crisis, COCOM1 convenor Khuraijam Athouba accused the government of India of attempting to shift the conflict in a different direction.
He stated: "It is now time for the people to come together and work collectively towards finding a solution to the issue".
Stating that COCOMI alone cannot confront the government, he sought the support of every household member to raise their voices against the attacks on the Meeteis, and demand resettlement of internally displaced persons (IDPs), and withdrawal of India's proxy army.
Similar public meetings were held at Lamsang community hall, Khurai Laningthou Ahanba Mandop, and Laisoi Relief Camp, Moirang.
