Kakching, April 22 2025:
Lamlong Khunou Youth Club (LKYC) has Urged the government to complete black topping of the Kharou Khullen to Lamlong Khunou road under Tengnoupal district before the monsoon season along with addressing the power and water supply woes faced by Lamlong Khunou villagers.
Speaking to media persons, LKYC spokesperson DI Morimshang expressed strong resentment over sluggish pace of the PMGSY-funded road project from Kharou Khullen to Lamlong Khunou village, which is nearby International Border Pillar 84, 85 and 86 and resided by the Maring community.
Further alleging lack of quality control in stretches of the said road already black topped, he demanded that authorities concerned complete black topping of the road before onset of the monsoons.
Morimshang also claimed that in-spite of the PHED constructing a reservoir Lamlong Khunou villagers continue to be deprived of tap water connection.
He further pointed out that the village has power line connection, but no regular electricity, while adding if there is any problem with the line, the village folks initiate the repair works as the Electricity Department ignores their complaint.
Morimshang appealed to the department concerned to address the power and water supply problems faced by villagers.
