PM-DAJGUA campaign launched in hill districts

Imphal, June 16 2025: Under the initiatives of the district administrations concerned, the Pradhan Mantri Dharti Aaba Janbhagidari Abhiyan (PM-DAJGUA), which is a nationwide outreach programme aimed at empowering the farmers through dissemination of information on central government schemes and provision of agricultural inputs, has been launched on Monday in Senapati, Kamjong, Tengnoupal and Noney districts.

In Senapati district, the launch event held on Monday at Katomei community hall also marked the commencement of Pradhan Mantri Janjati Adivasi Nyaya Maha Abhiyan (PM-JANMAN), another centrally-sponsored programme for empowerment of the Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs).

To be held till June 30, the PM-DA-JGUA campaign will cover all eight sub-divisions of Senapati district as part of Janjatiya Gaurav Varsh.

Venues include Katomei, Tadubi, Paomata, Maram, Kalinamai, Lakhamai, Willong Khullen, and Purul.

The campaigns aim to ensure every tribal and PVTG household is aware of and can access entitlement's under PM-DAJGUA and PM-JANMAN, upholding the vision of "Last Mile, First Priority" .

The launch event also included laying of the foundation stone for 10 Multi-Purpose Centres (MPCs) for PVTGs, funded by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, at Naojai, Khabaduikong, Sadim Rangalong, Maram Khongnem, Ngatan, Taklung, Sangkumei, Sangkunglung, Pangmaram and Kamalung villages.

Dignitaries, who addressed the gathering, stressed the need to educate beneficiaries about available schemes, highlighted that 94 villages and hamlets will receive infrastructure under PM-DAJGUA, urged village leaders and contractors to ensure quality work and advised Block Development Officers (BDOs) and civil society organisations (CSOs) to monitor progress and mobilise communities.

They also informed that since launch of the PM-DAJGUA on October 2, 2024, the scheme has covered 140 villages with 27 interventions across 17 ministries, including roads, electricity, healthcare, and digital services.

During the event, village chairmen and secretaries were felicitated with gifts and tree saplings under Ek Ped Maa Ka Naam 2.0 .

A cultural performance was showcased by women from Emesiiphro village and 20 departmental stalls offering scheme information and services set up at the launch venue.

Meanwhile, PM-JANMAN, a timebound central initiative for PVTGs, has made significant progress in Senapati, with 13 interventions by nine ministries improving infrastructure, housing, roads, water supply, healthcare, and connectivity.

The Maram tribe, Manipur's only PVTG, residing in 26 villages across Senapati, has benefited from completed Anganwadi Centres (AWCs), ongoing construction of two 100-bed hostels, and the registration of 1,941 beneficiaries under PMAY-G.Additionally, 3,763 Maram tribe members have been enrolled under Ayushman Bharat.

KAMJONG: Formal launch function of PM-DAJGUA - Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) campaign for the district was held at 12:30 pm at the Kamjong MGNREGS Hall, SDO Office Complex, during which district administration and block level officials elaborated on the significance and benefits of the services, which encompass 17 government ministries and 25 schemes in total.

They emphasised that the nationwide welfare scheme, focuses on the implementation of various welfare programmes across blocks and villages and urged all village headmen, authorities, student union leaders, and the youth to cooperate in achieving the campaign's objectives.

Noney district was launched at the Longmai-3 multipurpose hall with the participation of officials of the district administration, forest department, line departments, villagers and representatives of different CSOs.

A total of 21 stalls of various line departments in Noney district were set up for public welfare during the event.

In the district, the DAJGUA IEC campaign will cover 27 villages across Noney, Nungba, Khoupum, and Haochong sub-divisions till June 30 .

TENGNOUPAL: The DAJGUA IEC campaign for Tengnoupal district was held at the DC Office Complex, in the presence of officials of the district administration, sub-divisional and line departments, as well as community representatives, and beneficiaries.

Service counters were set up to facilitate on-the-spot enrolment and awareness on schemes such as PM-KISAN, Ayushman Bharat (PM-JAY), PMUY, PMMVY, VDPK, CMHT, Mission Indradhanush, and social security benefits.

Special focus was given to Aadhaar enrolment, ration card and job card distribution, and health screenings, among other services.

The campaign will continue until June 30, 2025 across the district, with outreach activities and benefit saturation camps in 11 identified tribal villages of Tengnoupal district.

It may be noted that the fort-night-long campaign aims to empower tribal communities, ensuring holistic tribal development and the effective delivery of government benefits.

The DAJGUA scheme is a government of India initiative aimed at promoting holistic rural development in tribal areas through awareness, outreach, and improved government service delivery, to achieve the goal of inclusive governance and last-mile delivery of services.

As a part of the launch events, the district administrations distributed ration cards, widow and old-age pensions, health cards, and tree saplings, besides provisions of Aadhaar, ration cards, LPG connections, and PM-KISAN .
