Governor assures to protect sacred sites

Imphal, April 02 2025:
Members of Thangjing Seva Mandal (TSM), Historical Heritage Development Organisation (HHDO), and Committee on Protection & Preservation of the Historical Rights of Koubru & Thangjing Hill Ranges (CP PKT), called on Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla on Wednesday.
In a release, PRO Raj Bhavan informed that the members apprised the Governor on difficulties faced by devotees in accessing the sacred Thangjing Hills to offer prayers, to which the Governor assured to look into and address their concerns.
Security advisor Kuldiep Singh, secretary to Governor Sumant Singh, Bishnupur SP, also attended the meeting.
The release continued that the Governor also chaired the 1st Organising Committee Meeting of Shirui Lily Festival, 2025 .
The meeting was held on Wednesday at the conference hall of Raj Bhavan.
During the meeting various agendas pertaining to the smooth conduct of the festival across all spheres such as transportation, security, crowd management, infrastructure, hospitality, cultural programming, promotional strategies, and coordination among various departments were comprehensively discussed.
Secretary to Governor, DGP Manipur Rajiv Singh, PCCF, principal secretary, commissioners, and other senior police, military and civil officers attended the meeting, it said.
