Farmers trained on scientific rearing of pigs

Imphal, April 16 2025:
Under the aegis of National Livestock Mission, United Committee Manipur (UCM), Awang Sekmai Unit in collaboration with District Veterinary Office, Imphal West conducted a training programme on scientific rearing of pigs at the multipurpose hall of Advanced Women Society, Awang Sekmai Koujengleima on Wednesday.

District Veterinary Officer, Imphal West deputy director Dr Sabitri Maibam as chief guest, UCM president YK Dhiren as president and UCM Sekmai chairman Ayangbam Suresh as guest of honour.
In her speech, Dr Sabitri urged the farmers to take advantage of the knowledge imparted by technical experts during the training programme, while encouraging them to avail the benefits of other programmes organised by the Department from time to time.
Meanwhile, YK Dhiren exuded hope that the programme would help in enhancing income of the farmers and called upon the people and the departments concerned to work together to help the state become self-sustainable.
Around 40 farmers attended the programme, held with veterinary officers Dr Chirom Amita and Dr Dilraj Mayanglambam as technical experts.
