DC chairs preparatory meeting, launches makeup training

A preparatory meeting for the Har Ghar Tiranga programme and the District Planning Committee, chaired by deputy commissioner Krishna Kumar, was held on Tuesday in his office chamber, here.
The meeting discussed and planned activities for the Har Ghar Tiranga programme, and reviewed implementation of various schemes and projects in the district.
During the meeting, Krishna Kumar instruct ed all district-level officers (DLOs) to actively promote the schemes and projects undertaken by their respec tive departments, ensuring maximum benefits for beneficiaries.
He stressed the importance of effective planning to achieve the desired outcomes.
The meeting also discussed the activities to be carried out by the district administration in connection with the Har Ghar Tiranga programme.
The sub-divisional agricultural officer, Jiribam, briefed the gathering on the implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana - Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (PMKSY-RKVY) in the district.
DC Krishna Kumar urged officials to work collaboratively to ensure the successful implementation of various schemes and programmes in the district.
The meeting was attended by Jiribam DFO E Nirmala Chanu, Jiribam/Borobekra SDO L Tarajeet Singh, DIO N Bidyananda Singh, SDC BO RK Gyandeep, Jiribam SDC Sitaranjit, Jiribam BDO Gyaneshwar, SDC HQ Bijendro Atom, Borobekra SDC M Devananda Singh, Jiribam ZEO Th Amurashi Chanu, JMC EO M Surjit Singh, Jiribam SDAO Naem Shah, and other DLOs.
Meanwhile, DC Krishna Kumar inaugurated a seven-day makeup training programme for the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) at Jiribam Higher Secondary School, Babupara, on Tuesday.
The training, organised by tha district administration in collaboration with MSRLM, Jiribam, aims to empower IDPs with skills to generate income and become self-reliant.
The programme, with the motto "Empower Yourself, Transform Lives with Skill Upgradation", is specifically designed for women residents of IDP camps and girl students.
Krishna Kumar emphasised the importance of teamwork and encouraged the trainees to ask questions without hesitation.
He also highlighted that the district administration is providing food, lodging, and healthcare facilities to IDPs free of charge.
The deputy commissioner commended MSRLM, Jiribam for initiating such training programmes and urged trainees to utilise the knowledge gained to secure suitable jobs.
He also praised IDPs who had secured employment after attending similar training sessions and encouraged the remaining IDPs to participate.
The deputy commissioner stated that the government aims to close all relief camps by December 2025 and has set a target to make IDPs self-sufficient before the closures.
A total of 26 trainees from relief camps set up at Jiribam Higher Secondary, Bidyanagar Sports Complex, and Children's Home, Hari-nagar are participating in the training programme.
The trainees will be instructed by master trainer Thokchom Tombimacha.
The function was also attended by district information officer N Bidyananda Singh, Borobekra SDC M Devananda Singh, MSRLM, Jiribam district in-charge W Premchand and officials from MSRLM, Jiribam.
