Whereabouts of two 17-yr old still unknown, sit-ins plea for safety

A sit-in protest was staged on Thursday urging the government to trace the whereabouts of two teenagers who have been missing since July 6 .
The two missing teenagers include a 17-year old boy from Sagolband Takyel Kolom Leikai and a 17-year old girl from Tera Tongbram Leikai.
Locals of Loukham Leirak, Ramji Kabui Khul, Tera Yengkhom Leirak, Yambem Leirak, Thengbaijam Leirak, Khuraijam Leirak and Tongbram Leikai at Loukham Leirak community hall, requesting the authorities to find the teenage girl and safely bring her back to her family.
Speaking on the sidelines of the sit-in, the girl's father recounted that on May 6 around 5 am, he dropped off his daughter for Chemistry tuition at Sagolband Meino Leirak, which ended at 6.30 am.
After this tuition, she and her friends then leave to attend Physics tuition at Keishampat from 7am to 8.15 am.
On the fateful day, she called from one of her friend's phone after the Physics tuition was over.
As he did not pick up the call in time, he called her back where she informed that she will return with her friends before hanging up.
At around 9.25 am, he called her again, where she informed that she was going to Nambol to eat some snacks, but the call was abruptly hanged up as if someone had grabbed it and cut off the call.
However, when he tried contacting her afterwards, the connection never got through till date and she has been missing since then.

filed a missing report at Imphal Police Station the same day and went to Nambol himself to find his daughter.
CCTV foot-ages taken from Keishampat and Nambol areas showed his daughter had left together with the teenage boy on the latter's two-wheeler, following which Imphal PS registered an FIR on July 8.However, her whereabouts continued to remain unknown.
On the other hand, Young Progressive Club organised a sit-in protest at Sagolband Takyel Kolom Leikai on Thursday, urging for tracing the whereabouts of both teenagers.
Speaking to the media, the boy's father recalled that on July 6 at around 8am, his son left home informing his mother that he was going to watch a football match.
At around 2pm the same day, the family of the teenage girl came to their home, following which they were made aware both teenagers had left together.
Since then, both teenagers have been missing, he said, while adding that a missing report has been filed at Lamphel Police.
He then appealed to all concerned to safely hand over both teenagers, if they come across the duo or if they have been held captive, to their respective families at the earliest.
