Lions Clubs details flood relief in IE

Imphal, July 04 2025:
In response to the recent floods in some parts of the state, Lions Clubs of Manipur region - under the aegis of International Association of Lions Club District 322D - conducted major relief operation, reaching out to over 2,220 individuals in Imphal East district.
According to a statement, the relief operations covered 10 flood-hit areas, including Kongba Kshetri Leikai, Kongba Laishram Leikai, Okram Chuthek, Wangkhei Louman-bi, Thambalkhong, Wangkhei Laishram Leikai, Ayangpalli and Ningthem Pukhri Mapal.
With support from local clubs and volunteers, essential supplies were distributed to affected families, many of whom had their homes inundated with no access to basic necessities.
According to the Lions Club, the aid distributed included 62 bags of 50 kg rice, 444 kg potatoes, salt and dal, 444 half-litre bottles of mustard oil, 2200 one litre bottles of packaged water, 1332 bars of soap, 66 mattresses, 71 mosquito nets and 23 tarpaulins.
District Governor of Lions International District 322D (2024-25), Th Kesho Singh, stated that the Lions Club has always responded promptly to humanitarian needs and will continue to do so as part of its ongoing mission.
"The initiative was met with heartfelt appreciation from the beneficiaries, many of whom are currently struggling to recover from the ravages left behind by the floods," the statement said, while adding that for them, the relief materials brought immediate support and reassurance.
Lions Club International has a longstanding tradition of being among the first responders during crisis, offering both manpower and resources to alleviate sufferings.
The Imphal East relief operation stands as yet another testament to the Lions' global commitment to service, compassion, and community resilience, the statement added.
