MPCC meet eyes grassroots, digital expansion

AICC, Minority Department national coordinator and Manipur in-charge Rajesh Kumar Sethi led the state executive meeting of the Minority Department of Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) on April 30 at Congress Bhawan, here.
The session focused on expanding the party's organisational reach and enhancing its digital footprint across the state, according to a press statement from the MPCC.
Addressing the gathering, Rajesh Kumar Sethi emphasised the need for structured offline and online engagement and urged leaders and workers to become active on social media and called for the appointment of state and district coordinators for social media outreach under the minority department.

He also recommended immediate creation of official department handles on platforms like Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), and Instagram to better connect with the public, especially the youth.
Reiterating the AICC Minority Department's commitment to strengthening the Congress party's presence in the state, he acknowledged the support of AICC minority department chairman and Rajya Sabha MP Imran Pratapgarhi.
Under Sethi's leadership, the department aims to build a robust structure at the state, district, assembly, and booth levels, the statement said.
Presided over by MPCC Minority Department chairman Md Zakir Hussain, the meeting was also attended by key Congress leaders, including MPCC general secretary (organisation) Amir Hussain, Md Siraj Ahmad, W Shamjai Singh, and Manipur Youth Congress Committee president Wahengbam Anand, along with NSUI Manipur president Joyson Khoho and minority department office bearers.
Deliberations centred on strengthening the party's base in minority-concentrated assembly constituencies and promoting inclusive outreach.
Participants shared ideas for effective grassroots mobilisation and boosting visibility among minority communities.
The meeting adopted a unanimous resolution to intensify both organisational and digital initiatives in line with the Congress party's vision of secularism, justice, and inclusive development, it added.
