IEC campaign ends in five districts; underway in Pherzawl

TENGNOUPAL: The 15-day nationwide Information, Education, and Communication IEC) campaign on Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gaurav Utkarsh Abhiyan (DAJGUA) and other centrally sponsored welfare programmes in respect of Tengnoupal, Senapati, Kangpokpi and Noney districts concluded on Monday while in Pherzawl the district administration has extended the campaign to cover left-out villages.
Sita village Tengnoupal district hosted the concluding programme of the campaign held in the presence of Tengnoupal SDO/BDO Md Nazmul Huda Khan, Sita village chief, district level officials (DLOs) and around 300 villagers.
The campaign covered 11 identified villages in the district with 15,000 villagers availing the services and benefits of the national campaign.
Line departments opened over 150 stalls and delivered instant services of registration and various schemes under different departments.
Apart from hundreds of PM-JAY cards, caste certificates, domiciles, saplings distributed, health check-up programmes were conducted for the villagers while over 250 persons registered for new ration cards during the campaign.
NONEY: The IEC campaign on DAJGUA for the district ended at Haochong sub-divisional headquarters on Monday with Haochong SDO/BDO and other 13 line departments in Noney district joining the concluding programme besides 300 villagers/beneficiaries.
Earlier, the campaign was held in in villages under Khoupum, Longmai and Nungba sub-divisions.
SENAPATI: The last day of the IEC campaign on DAJGUA and saturation drive for Senapati district was held on Monday the Purul community hall near Purul BDO/SDO office complex.
Speaking at the programme, BDO S Lunguiba highlighted various welfare schemes and informed that two projects for Purul block namely construction of 100-bedded hostel (50 for boys & 50 for girls) at Oinam Hill High School and Purul Higher Secondary School has been approved under DAJGUA through the initiative of Senapati district administration and Education Department.
The last day, attended by DLOs and bank personnel, and setting up of 20 stalls', had a turn-out of over 1000 people from 12 villages of the block.
The Purul BDO also distributed six disability documents (CMST), eight widow pension cards and four old age pension cards; hybrid vegetables seeds, ginger, NPK fertilisers and pamphlets on horticulture practices and 14 mementos to women (mother of daughter) under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao campaign.
KANGPOKPI: DAJGUA awareness and benefits saturation camp concluded at Leplen UJB School under Lhungtin sub-division in Kangpokpi district.
The camp held under the supervision of Lhungtin BDO Samuel Misao, covered T Gamnom, Molkon, C Aisan, Leplen, and Dongsum Tinpibung villages.
Another saturation camp was also organised at T Khullen Villageunder the supervision of Kangpokpi SDC Lunlenmoi Vaiphei with both camps attended by DLOs, village chairmen and secretaries and locals.
PHERZAWL: Pherzawl district administration has further extended its outreach activities under the ongoing DAJGUA campaign reaching out to Taithu, Damdiei and Pherzawl villages.
As part of the initiative, benefit saturation camps were organised to provide a one-stop platform for a range of services including issuance of tribe and domicile certificates, Aadhaar updates, assistance with bank account opening and registration for farmer's card.
Special emphasis was placed on enrolment under AB-PMJAY other social security schemes during the camps.
Alongside the service camps, an IEC drive was conducted to raise awareness about various government schemes and services In a bid to address the persistent challenges posed by limited banking access, the district administration has announced plans to roll-out financial inclusion schemes at the grassroots level from Tuesday till September 30 across Vangai range and Tipaimukh blocks.
As a short-term measure tb ease transaction difficulties, the district administration also plans to set up as many Airtel Payment Bank outlets and customer service points in remote villages to facilitate basic banking services related to government schemes such as PMAY-G, PM Kisan and MGNREGS, among others.
The IEC campaign held under the initiatives of Ministry of Tribal Affairs was aimed at raising awareness about various welfare schemes under the DAJGUA initiative and to ensure saturation of benefits to all eligible beneficiaries belonging to the Scheduled Tribe (ST) populations across the country.
