Governor apprised of conditions in relief camps

Imphal, July 21 2023:
Chief secretary Dr Vineet Joshi, commissioner (Home) T Ranjit Singh and secretary (Health) PK Jha met Governor Anusuiya Uikey and apprised her of the condition in all the relief camps opened in both the hills and valley in addition to informing about basic facilities extended by state administration to the violence affected people.
The Governor told the visiting team to look into the welfare of the internally displaced people by providing necessary facilities especially mosquito nets, mattress, bed sheets, hygienic kits, milk and other dairy products far children & lactating mothers, generic medicines, etc.
The Governor also advised them to submit a proposal to the Ministry of Health and to the Indian Red Cross Society, New Delhi for providing help for the IDPs who have been taking shelter in different relief camps.
Besides, the Governor also asked them to enquire about the requirements of relief camp inmates.
The meeting also discussed over the matter related to the posting/transfer of Kuki government employees working in valley districts to their respective places in hill districts.
Meanwhile, representatives of Indian Red Cross Society, Manipur Branch met the Governor and apprised her of their common programme of actions for IDPs of Manipur.
They informed the Governor that few essential items such as mosquito nets, kitchen ' sets and hygienic kits have already been received from the Indian Red Cross Society, New Delhi out of which some were already distributed to refief camps in the state except Churachandpur district, where it is being planned in coming days.
The Governor advised them that the materials received from the Indian Red Cross Society should be evenly distributed to all the affected people staying in various relief camps.
Further, she also advised them to request the IRCS, New Delhi for more essential and required items for the needy people.
