Viral video just tip of the iceberg: KIM

Strongly condemning the May 4 incident near L Phainom village wherein modesty of two Kuki women was outraged, the Kuki Inpi Manipur (KIM) said the viral video of the outrageous act is only the tip of an iceberg that has been committed by the Meeteis against the helpless Kukis.
The horrific viral video showed the women being stripped naked, paraded, fondled in full public glare by bestial Meetei mob, KIM said and asked what has deterred N Biren Singh from arresting the culprits even after more than two months of the incident.
Why should N Biren feign ignorance of such atrocious acts against the hapless Kukis? KIM posed.
The Kuki body, however, said it profoundly acknowledges the humanitarian support of every fellow citizen in standing against the horrifying exploit of two Kuki women by a large Meetei mob.
The KIM also said that it grateful to the Prime Minister for calling for truth and justice for the distressed victims of the heinous crime as also other notable politicians and public figures voicing against the crime.
According to the KIM, such abhorrent act is against any sensible human conception and the collective conscience of the people.
At the same time, the KIM also implored the Prime Minister to not consider the incident as an isolated case and not to decontextualize the issue but to get to the root of the violence in Manipur and deliver justice.
Reacting to COCOMI's condemnation certain extent and questioned as to how COCOMI condemned something which they are instigating.
While asserting that all relationships between the Kukis and Meeteis have been snapped, it said the only solution to present conflict lies in total separation of the two 'and suggested that the Government of India expedite the demand for separate State for the Kukis.
