Imphal, December 26 2023: Dr Palin Khundongbam, CMD Shija Hospitals & Research Institute Pvt Ltd.

(SHRI), was honoured with the North East Festival (NEF) Outstanding Award for his significant entrepreneurial contributions.

The prestigious accolade, presented during the 11th North East Festival held at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, New Delhi on December 23, recognises his exceptional role as a success story emerging from the North East Region (NER), said a press release of SHRI.

"His (Dr Palin) commendable achievements in establishing thriving enterprises in the challenging landscape of Manipur have positioned him as an exemplary figure for the people of North East India.

Dr Palin has notably pioneered medical tourism in the region and spearheaded the establishment of Shija Academy of Health Sciences, the first private medical college in North East India, marking a milestone in the region's healthcare landscape," the release said.

It continued, "The North East Festival stands as a cornerstone event showcasing the rich cultural tapestry and tourism potential of the North East to a wider audience.

Over the past decade, the festival has garnered substantial attention, attracting large crowds and tourists from across Delhi.

Its extensive coverage in the national media has significantly contributed to fostering a positive perception about the North East Region.
