Noney celebrates Christmas amid winter drizzle

Winter showers disrupted Christmas celebrations in Noney district.
Howevet, the rain failed to dampen the joy and festive spirit.
Due to rains, the celebration halls were shifted to drier locations, such as community halls and church buildings, while the customary early morning worship schedule was changed to afternoon session.
Christmas was celebrated in Noney with religious fervour and gaiety.
Even though rains disrupted celebrations inside the well-decorated Christmas halls, many worshippers flocked to the churches to worship Lord Jesus on his birthday.
As part of the celebrations, Christmas cakes and sweets were distributed by the organisers.
Gifts and alms were also given to the needy people.
Christmas carols enlivened mass gatherings in every nook and conner of the district.
In the evening, there were mass community feasts with a variety of delicious food items.
The celebration will continue till December 27.Meanwhile, Assam Rifles celebrated Christmas with villagers of Kotlen in Kangpokpi district and Haochong in Noney district on December 25.Essential supplies were also distributed to individuals at the relief camps and a school hostel near Kotlen village.
The village chiefs and CSOs thanked the Assam Rifles for their relentless support during the interaction post the celebrations.
