The Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI) Farmers' Wing (CFW) has urged the relevant authorities to release the Rs 38.60 crore crop compensation package approved by the Centre to provide relief to farmers affected by the Manipur crisis.
Notably, this package was part of the special relief package of Rs 209.45 crore sanctioned by the Union Home Ministry to the Manipur Government.
In a statement issued by K Thoiba Meetei, convenor, CFW, the farmers' body has asserted that the ongoing unrest in the State has had devastating implications for the farming community.
