Stating that the majority of the displaced people want to return to their native places as hostility among people has subsided significantly, the Chief Minister sought support from one and all to end the conflict completely.
The resettlement process will also be completed very soon, the Chief Minister added.
He claimed that the situation at Kangpokpi and Churachandpur has also improved by about 20 per cent as compared to the initial stage of the conflict.
To a query, N Biren responded that resolving any problem will take time.
Appealing to the warring communities to shun violence, N Biren sought sup- port from every community residing in Manipur in restoring normalcy and letting the displaced people return to their native places.
To another query, the Chief Minister said that the MST bus service of Imphal-Senapati and Imphal-Chura- chandpur will resume when there are adequate passengers.
There was some misunderstanding in re-launching the Imphal-Senapati and Imphal-Churachandpur MST bus service on December 23, he said and added that the Government won't let any misunderstanding emerge again in resuming the passenger service.
He further said that the Government has been working relentlessly to provide road transport facilities to the people.
Stating that normalcy will return to hill districts affected by the violence inch by inch, the Chief Minister reminded that even security personnel couldn't move freely in Imphal areas when the violence was at its maximum height.
All Manipuris are one and the Government doesn't want to use brute force against anyone, he said and added that the Government understands the aspiration of the people and will work accordingly.
On being asked about the claim of ITLF that the Chief Minister didn't have any conversation with Kuki leaders, N Biren responded that he is in touch with some of them (Kuki leaders) and it doesn't need to be publicised.
How will ITLF know with whom I had a conversation, he asked and added that the Kuki leaders with whom he had a conversation with will feel unsafe if their names come out in public.
Saying that there are many old Kukis with whom he is in touch and they don't want to see Manipur divided, N Biren added that ITLF and CoTU will also come to their senses about the violence in Manipur someday.
