RIMS observes Swachhata Pakhwada 2025

Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal, successfully observed Swachhata Pakhwada 2025 from April 1 to 15 under the national theme "Swachhata is everyone's business", as per the directives of the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MoHFW).
A release issued by RIMS informed that the fortnight-long campaign reflects RIMS' strong commitment to promoting cleanliness, hygiene, and public awareness across all departments and facilities of the institute.
The Swachhata Pakhwada 2025 was observed with active involvement of the director, medical superintendent, HODs, Kayakalp team, and support from collaborating agencies like Centre for Research and Environment Development (CRED) and Manipur Security Services (MSS).
A series of impactful activities were conducted throughout the campaign including cleanliness drives across the institute's campus, a tree plantation programme at the newly constructed PG Hostel campus, awareness drives, including the display of IEC materials at key locations, and engagement of students and schools on World Health Day 2025, competitions for school students such as debate on "Single Use Plastics - Boon or Curse" and "Voice of Students" contest on the theme "What a healthy future means to me" and yoga sessions to promote holistic wellness.
MoHFW joint secretary Elangbam Robert Singh visited RIMS to inspect and assess Swachhata-related activities being undertaken in the institute.
The joint secretary also awarded certificates and cash prizes to three cleanest departments, eight outstanding nursing officers, nine best employees of RIMS and six top housekeeping staff from CRED and MSS.
Public participation was a point to note of this year's observance, with strong engagement from students, schools, faculty, hospital staff, community members and media persons.
Feedback mechanisms such as MERA ASPATAAL, suggestion boxes, and feedback forms were actively used to ensure inclusivity and continuous improvement, the release added.
