Imphal, August 12 2025:
On the occasion of the 21st Raising Day of its military wing Miyamgi Fingang Lanmi (MFL) falling on August 13, which also coincides with Patriots' Day, a day observed in Kangleipak (Manipur) every year to honour the heroes of the Anglo-Manipuri War of 1891, Military Affairs Committee of Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP) extended revolutionary greetings to the people.
The organisation/party also paid homage to heroes of Anglo-Manipuri War, those martyred amid the ongoing proxy war and party cadres martyred during the course of revolutionary movement for restoration of the lost sovereignty of Kangleipak (Manipur).
The party also issued a message on the occasion and shared its thoughts on revolutionary movement for restoration of the lost sovereignty of Kangleipak (Manipur) .
It recalled that Kangleipak managed to rebuild itself after the invasion by Awa (Burma) known as "Seven Years Devastation (1819-1826)" but faced repeated British interferences and eventually lost its sovereignty again.
On the charge of waging war, the British hanged Yubraj Tikendrajit and Thangal General on August 13, 1891 at Pheidabung now known as BT Park, the statement said adding that August 13 serves both as a memorial day for the entire 'nation' and as a reaffirmation of a national pledge.
The date for formation of MFL in 2004 was deliberately chosen to align with the spirit of August 13, 1891 when heroes of the land laid down their lives in defence of sovereignty.
According to the KCP statement, the party started armed struggle for restoration of the lost sovereignty of Kangleipak (Manipur) with ideological inspiration from Mao's three constantly read articles of China.
The articles namely 'Serve the People' Tn Memory of Norman Bethune' and 'The Foolish Old Man Who Removed the Mountains' embody the principles of revolutionary perseverance and service to the people, the statement said and discussed in details all the three articles to underline the party's call for steadfastness in the liberation struggle.
While quoting Mao's famous dictum 'to die for the people is weightier than Mount Tai', the KCP statement continued that true revolutionaries dedicate themselves fully to the cause without regard for personal gains.
Concluding the message, the KCP raised questions on political trajectory of Kangleipak (Manipur) particularly on why sovereignty could not be retained after August 14, 1947, how the signing of the Merger Agreement in 1949 altered its status and why sacrifices of patriots of the past have yet to secure lasting independence.
The party also called for unity and stressed the need for initiating a new revolutionary movement to resist existential threats to the indigenous people of the land.
