Many extend aid to village volunteers, relief camps

Various groups and associations extended aid to the volunteers who are safeguarding their villages from attack by Kuki militants and at relief camps opened in the state.
The Little Flower School, Past Pupils Association (LFS PPA), superior sisters of the school along with its headmistress provided essential commodities to inmates of the relief camp opened at Panchayat Ghar, Kangchup Kharang on Monday.
According to LFS PPA president Monika Naorem, the as sociation has been extending help to relief camps hardly reached by relief providers and also to volunteers defending villages from armed Kuki militants attack.
The help is being provided through contributions made by PPA members stationed in and outside the state, she added.
Members of St Joseph's Higher Secondary School Students Van Services Union, Sangaiprou also provided aid to the village volunteers at Phubala and Narensena under Bishnupur district as DM College of Arts Alumni 1999 provided edible items to the village volunteers at Narensana and Phougakchao Ikhai in Bishnupur district and Sugnu and Tangjeng in Kakching district.
DM College of Arts Alumni 1999 convenor W Naobi said that the alumni has been providing help to those affected by the present crisis in the state.
The role of the village volunteers during this time of crisis is commendable.
The alumni will continue providing help at its best level, he added.
