IRCS team, MLA call on Governor

Imphal, September 04 2023:
Chairman of Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) Manipur unit Narendra Ningomba along with two other members called on Governor Anusuiya Uikey at Raj Bhavan on Monday and informed about relief materials received from IRCS, New Delhi.
During the meeting, the IRCS team told the Governor that essential items such as mosquito nets, kitchen sets, blankets and hygiene kits have already been received from the Indian Red Cross Society, New Delhi and the same will be distributed to different relief camps in the state.
The team also informed the Governor that there are enough stocks of tarpaulin sheets that can be distributed to inmates in relief camps as per requirement.
The Governor advised the team and chalked out plan for distribution of the relief materials and urged for evenly distribution to all the affected people staying in various relief camps in valley as well as hill districts.
The Governor stated that her office will facilitate for the transportation of relief materials if need arises.
She further informed that she will soon visit the recently inaugurated pre-fabricated homes in Imphal East for distribution of the said relief items.
Later, Khundrakpam MLA Thokchom Lokeshwar along with seven displaced people of Ikou and Litanpokpi villages called on the Governor on Monday evening and submitted a memorandum with a proposal for setting up of pre-fabricated houses in.
Dolaithabi Bazar for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) of Ikou, Dolaithabi, Litanpokpi and Sadu Yengkhuman villages.
The Governor assured all possible assistance from her end and handed over four rice bags and one oil box to the team.
The villagers of Ikou and Litanpokpi expressed their gratitude to the Governor for her continuous help them.
