Consultative training prog held

Imphal, August 03 2022: Under the supervision of MOVCDNER Department of Agriculture, Green Foundation organised a one-day consultative training programme on 'Capacity Building cum joint meeting of BODs and Farmer Interest Groups (FIG) of Farmer Producer Companies (FPCs) and Mission Organic Value Chain Development for North Eastern Region-III' at its farmer, convention centre located at Kwakeithel Awang Thiyam Leikai on Tuesday.

The training programme was attended by 57 BODs and leaders of FIGs namely Nongpok Pukkei Organic Producer Company Limited; Nongchup Pukkei Organic Producer Company Limited and Kha-Nongchup Pukkei Organic Producer Company Limited.

Speaking on the occasion, Ougri Consultancy Private Limited's Sunila informed that guidelines of the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MOC) to be followed by the FPCs are not that difficult.

Green Foundation executive director U Premjit explained the importance of a clear and cohesive communication among the FIG members and BoDs of FPCs.

He further stated that forming FIGs and building their capacities from time to time is in the interest of FPCs and they should do all possible to institutionalise the functioning of the FIGs in business promotion and set up systems for receiving agricultural inputs from the FPCs at better rates, and selling their produce directly to markets.

As an outcome of the programme, it was decided that Company Share Certificates shall be distributed on August 12 .
