Health camps for flood affected opened at many places

To address the health concerns of flood victims, Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI), All Manipur United Clubs' Organisation (AMUCO), Manipuri Students' Federation (MSF) and Federation of Civil Society Organisations (FOCS), Manipur have extended medical support in the form of health camps and distribution of medicines.
COCOMI: In association with the Netaji Memorial Club, COCOMI conducted a medical camp at Ima Nongmaileima Shanglen, Khurai Chingangbam Leikai for flood affected families of Khurai Kongpal Sajor Leikai and surrounding areas.
Stating that COCOMI has opened a relief and emergency helpline, Mayengbam Somorjit, convenor, Relief and Medical, COCOMI Students' Front added that a mobile team has been formed to distribute necessary medicines to families who are stuck in their homes.
COCOMI is also making efforts to tie up with different hospitals to address emergency cases which require ambulance service, he said.
Additionally, with the help of donations and aid given to COCOMI by the public, volunteers of COCOMI and Ramakrishna Mission, Imphal distributed essential items to 40 flood-affected households (roughly 150 persons) at Lairikyengbam Makha Maning Leikai Community Hall.
Rice, lentils, cooking oil, salt, ngari, tea leaves, milk etc were also distributed to flood affected people from Laishram Leikai, Sajor Leikai, Chingam Leikai Ningthoubung Leikai at Khurai Sajor Leikai Relief Camp.
Similarly, essential items were handed over to victims of flood at Haotal, Pangei and Puja Lampak Relief Camp, Wangkhei.
AMUCO & MSF: In continuation of their flood relief effort, the joint rescue team of AMUCO and MSF distributed essential medicines to the flood affected people of Thambalkhong Sabal Leikai and nearby regions.
The aid initiative was carried out with the help of All Manipur Chemist and Drug Association and Nungthil Chaibi Club.
A team led by Dr Norendro Thokchom, vice president, AMUCO; Koijam Santosh, general secretary; Pratap Leishangthem and Harley Laishram, assistant secretary, MSF carried out the distribution of essential medicines to the victims of flood.
AMUCO and MSF have extended gratitude to the volunteers of All Manipur Chemist and Drug Association and Nungthil Chaibi Club for their help.
FOCS: Concerned about the spread of water borne diseases among the flood affected families, FOCS organised a one-day free health camp at the temporary relief camp at Getwell Higher Secondary School, Haotal Thangjam Khunou, Imphal East today.
Around 200 people, including men, women and children were treated at the camp which was held in collaboration with Saiyon Hospital, Nambol and Haotal Youth Development Organisation (HDO) .
In this connection, BM Yaima Shah, acting president of FOCS thanked the authority of Saiyon Hospital, the doctors and nurses as well as club volunteers and school authority.
