Declare results of Special DPC: ICDS contractual staff

Imphal, April 28 2025: Association of Contractual Staff of ICDS-Mission 2016 Batch has drawn the attention of the Governor of Manipur and authorities concerned to declare the result of the Special DPC held in March, 2020 for recruitment of contractual staff for three schemes of the Social Welfare Department.

In a press meet held at Koubru Hall of Manipur Press Club on Monday, Association general secretary Maibam Romeshchandra said that after working for over a year, the contractual staff were informed in 2017 about end of the contract tenure.

Later, the Social Welfare Department notified an order on January 11, 2019, calling for recruitment of staff on contract basis for three schemes.

In connection with this, 133 petitioners filed an appeal to the Manipur High Court which directed for conduct of a special DPC.

The Special DPC was held on March 16 and 18, 2020.Instead of declaring the results, a notice of cancellation of the DPC was issued on October 5, 2021.On November 20 the same year, the Department issued another notice for the Special DPC and it was conducted soon after.

However, the results have yet to be declared till date.

Recounting that the matter had been apprised to the then chief minister N Biren, who assured declaration of the results after the Lok Sabha elections in 2024, he continued that let alone the release of the results, a notice was issued on October 31 last, informing the discontinuation of contract service under MSK scheme.

Frustrated with this situation, a contempt case was filed at the Manipur High Court with the Department repeatedly contending that it was trying to declare the DPC results.

This has cause immense difficulties and suffering to many candidates.

Thus, he urged the Governor to see to the declaration of the results of the Special DPC at the earliest.

He also drew the attention of the department authorities to release the Performance Based Honorarium (PBH) for the 1.2 years the staff had worked.
